American Building Specialties was founded in 1981 by J. Raoul Morin Sr., who previously ran a toilet accessory representative company. Recognizing a growing demand for installation services among Contractors and Small Businesses, he expanded the business.

In 1984, Raoul's daughter, M. Gayle Conlon, joined the company, marking the beginning of a family legacy with four generations now involved. Gayle's 2 daughters, and 1 son, along with her sister and niece, contribute to various aspects of the business. She took the reins in 1997, allowing her father to enjoy retirement.

Our estimating department can assist you from the initial budgeting phase, ensuring you select the right products for your project.

Our estimates feature detailed line items, allowing you to clearly see what is included. From the outset, we help you comply with ADA codes by providing notes on your estimate and highlighting any potential concerns.

We offer a wide range of top brands in Division 10 to ensure you receive the exact products you need.

Our quick turnaround time for submittals keeps the project moving forward efficiently, complemented by detailed professional shop drawings. Additionally, we provide physical color samples for clients who wish to examine them up close.

Installation

The installation team at American Building Specialties boasts over 50 years of combined experience.

While we operate nationwide, installation services are restricted to DC, MD, and VA. In Virginia, we cover areas as far west as Harrisonburg, as far south as Richmond, and all of Northern Virginia.

If we don't have an installer in your location, our experts are available to assist you with any issues that may arise during your DIY installation project.
